Testing Insulated Gloves, Sleeves, Blankets, Line Hose, Hoods, Jumpers, and Switch Sticks

Insulated rubber gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hose and hoods are used extensively throughout the electric utility industry to provide both primary and secondary protection to the electrical worker. Knowledge and skills in conducting electrical and visual tests on this equipment help to insure that it provides the needed protection to electrical workers. The Program is designed to impart and improve the knowledge and skills required to properly clean, visually inspect, electrically test, store and maintain insulated rubber gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hose, hoods, high voltage jumpers, and switch sticks.

Who Should Attend

This training program is for personnel who conduct electrical and visual tests on lineman’s protective equipment, those who have supervisory responsibility for such work, and safety personnel.

Course Fee and Registration

  • The Course fee of $750.00 per registrant includes the following:
  • Compilation of ASTM F18 Standards
  • Text notes by the instructors
  • Technical Articles of interest
  • Transportation to and from the test site
  • Morning and afternoon coffee/soft drink breaks, Tuesday and Wednesday lunch
  • Advanced registration is required since the class size will be limited due to the hand-on instruction.

Each registrant is responsible for meals except those outlined under “Course Fee and Registration. Reasonably priced eating facilities are within walking distance. Cab fare to this hotel is approximately $35, and Birmingham has Lyft and Uber service from the airport.
