Insulated aerial lift devices are used extensively throughout the electric utility industry to provide both primary and secondary electrical protection to the utility worker. Knowledge and skills in conducting aerial lifts provide the needed electrical protection. This program is designing to impart and improve knowledge and skill required for performing high voltage testing of aerial lifts and for interpreting of results. Primary emphasis on the use of high voltage D.C. although the use of high voltage A.C. will be covered.
This training program is for personnel that conduct high voltage tests on insulated aerial lifts, those that have supervisory responsibility for such work, and those in the safety department. The program includes acceptance and maintenance testing both articulating and telescoping lift trucks. The program also includes use of continuous current monitors for bare hand hot line work.
