VON Model WM5001 One Position Automatic Basket Liner Testing Slave Accessory without Controls and Metering

The Model WM5001 basket liner testing accessory must be connected to a VON glove/sleeve testing machine or blanket testing machine with power supply and switching circuits. The machine is designed to test one standard single and double basket liners. The 43.75" x 67.75" x 39" stainless steel tank will handle TECO & Hi-Ranger double bucket liners. The cabinet is 86" wide X 56" deep X 58" high. The unit will operate to 50kv A.C. or 100kv D.C.

The high voltage supply, automatic high voltage controls, timer, and adjustable kilovoltmeter are provided by a master glove/sleeve or blanket testing machine. Fault detection and a 0-400 millamp current meter are provided so the operator can determine if the liner is being tested.

The operator first opens the top loading door. A liner is placed on top of the water in the test tank by hand or using a small hoist. The operator then puts the pump output hose in the liner and the pump input hose in the tank. He turns ON the internal 50 gallon per minute pump and fills the liner. When the liner is filled to the proper depth (normally 6 inches from the lip), the pump is turned off and the hoses removed. The loading door is then closed which places the high voltage lead into the center of the liner and connects it to the HV voltage lead from the master machine. The operator presses the "START" button on the master machine. The liner will then be taken through the high voltage test cycle automatically.

The automatic test cycle includes raising and lowering the motor driven variable autotransformer feeding the high voltage supply in the master, automatic timing of the test, and automatic visual and audible indication of liner pass or fail. A liner which fails will stop the test, sound a steady audible signal, cause a red pilot light to flash and return the variable autotransformer to its zero position. A liner that completes the test causes a green pilot light to flash and sound a pulsating audible signal.

At the end of the test the operator opens the loading door, puts the input hose into the liner, and puts the output hose into the test tank. When a test compartment is opened its high voltage lead is connected to ground. He turns the pump switch ON which returns the water from inside the liner to the tank as the liner floats to the top of the water.
