Service Capacitors 
VON Impulse Service Capacitors have evolved through several stages of development to their present superior design for use in capacitance discharge fault locating with a VON tester and impulse control gap. Both terminals are on top of the insulated plastic case for ease of connecting capacitors in series or parallel.
The oil impregnated paper-mylar capacitor sections are end foil constructed for extra low internal inductance. The unit is well braced to withstand the severe mechanical shocks caused by the high magnetic fields associated with extremely high current discharges in a very short time (six nanoseconds). Completed units are factory tested at 150% of rated voltage. Units are designed for continuous duty at rated voltage.
